Obama/Muslim smears ORIGINATED from CLINTON Camp!

Everyone's been talking about this New Yorker magazine cover, depicting Barack and Michelle Obama in Muslim garb. The painting is a satirical attempt to smear the right wing for supposedly perpetuating the false rumor that Obama is a Muslim.

Undoubtedly, several conservatives did speculate as to whether Barack Obama's upbringing in Indonesia (home to more Muslims than any other country) had given him Islamic roots. However, while the mainstream media delights in pointing this out, they totally neglect to mention the wide-scale complicity of their fellow liberals...

• The Clinton Campaign canned a volunteer county chair for spreading a mass e-mail alleging Obama was a Muslim. That was December, 2007.
• Former U.S. senator and Clinton supporter Bob Kerrey was blasted for publicly reminding Americans about Obama's Muslim past. Said he: "...I like the fact that his name is Barack Hussein Obama and his father was a Muslim and that his paternal grandmother is a Muslim." Sen. Kerrey later sent Obama a letter of apology.
• When Hillary Clinton's campaign forwarded this photo of Obama wearing traditional Muslim dress, Obama's campaign manager called the tactic, "...the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election."
• When Hillary Clinton was asked whether or not she believed Obama was a Muslim, she replied that she didn't think he was a Muslim, "as far as I know."
• As early as January of 2007, CNN broadcast footage of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, with the caption: "Where is Obama?"

This list is far from exhaustive, but you get the point. Just keep these little facts in mind the next time you hear Olbermann or Matthews ranting about "right wing smear tactics."
